Busy!

Well, I have more updates! I can't really remember what I've updated the past couple posts, so I'll just go over all of it!
I'm in The House of the Spirits at Mixed Blood Theater, where I play one of the main characters as a child, so I'm not on stage a lot, but it's still SUPER fun.

I am also doing The Little Match Girls Gift on the U of M Centennial Showboat. We open the day after Thanksgiving! It's also really fun so far. And there are other kids in this one. In the Mixed Blood I'm the only kid!

AND NOW I HAVE THE MOST EXCITING NEWS OF ALL!

Next summer, for 3 WEEKS... I will be attending Stagedoor Manor with my friend Katie!!!!!!!

Stagedoor Manor is a performing arts camp for kids who eat, sleep, and breath theater! It's in NEW YORK CITY, and we spend three weeks there just acting, singing, dancing, and even doing film classes! We have two rehearsals and three or four classes a day. And the most exciting part is that people such as: Lea Michele, Natalie Portman, Robert Downey Jr., Jon Cryer, and Mandy Moore all went there, and that was how they were 'discovered'!

So obviously I'm very excited.

I'll post more soon!

School....

So today I went to Orientation for my new school............. It was all I had hoped for and better ( : I know a couple of people going there, but not a lot... I'm taking drama, choir and computer class as electives. The only thing I definitely wasn't expecting was the levels. I will explain. See, I have to take all accelerated classes for 7th grade and beyond. But when I got to my classes, the teachers all said that we would be normally working at a 9th grade level! Ugh.

Quick updates!

Soooooooooo... the 27th (2 days ago) was my 12th birthday! I had camp most of the day then went to the State Fair with my friend.

Good updates!

I got into Afternoon of the Elves at Youth Performance Company! I am playing the role of Sara-Kate (there are actually only 6 people in the cast. 2 adults, 4 kids).

I also got into a show at the Mixed Blood Theater called House of Spirits. And yes, that is the one thats almost entirely in Spanish! So hopefully that will turn out well....

So this means I can't do Annie at the Phipps, because both these shows run in the Fall and a little into Winter...

I'll update more later!

School...

Well, we start school in about 3 weeks. I'm trying to enjoy the last bit of summer as much as possible...

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof got cancelled, so now I don't have a show for the fall. I've been doing some auditions, and I'll just give you a list.

  • Afternoon of the Elves at Youth Performance Company. I got a callback, and that is on Monday.
  • House of Spirits at Mixed Blood Theater. THE WHOLE SHOW IS IN SPANISH! And at my audition there were only three of us. And they are double casting the role, so I might have a good chance.
  • I auditioned for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Ordway, and I got a callback, but I couldn't go because of Canada. THEN Canada got cancelled but nobody was answering they're phones there so I never went to the callbacks.
  • Next week I have an audition for Annie at the Phipps Center (where I did Sound of Music)
  • Next YEAR they are doing Annie at CTC and I'm auditioning for that also.
So, those are my latest auditions. I will update soon to let you know about them ( :

I can't believe summer's almost over!

No!!!! Summer cannot be ending!!! Anyways... Updates.

We started rehearsals for Music Man with North Como Summer Theater (turns out you didn't have to audition, just show up for rehearsal and they pick who plays Amaryllis and Winthrop there), and guess what? I'm Amaryllis! So, that show opens in about two weeks. We are in the middle of the rehearsal process, and it's going pretty well.

This fall I have Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at Torch Theater.

And it turns out we might do Miracle Worker again! They are not sure, but it is a possible yes ( :

Well, those are all the updates for now! I'm gonna try to savor every moment of the rest of summer! At least I get to go on vacation again... I'm going to Canada with my friend Lia! Yay!

One thing I forgot to put in the previous post!!!

Also on Wednesday, I am going in to read/audition for the role of Coco in Coco's Diary at the History Theatre! Coco is 13, so I might be to young but they asked me to come anyways. The show will perform for the governor at his mansion!

School's FINALLY out!!!!!!!

I'm so excited school is finally out!

I will give you some updates before I tell you about our vacation : ) ...

1. Tomorrow I have a callback for A Christmas Story at Children's Theater.

2. Wednesday I have my first rehearsal for Music Man at North Como.

3. Music Man runs throughout the summer.

4. In August I start rehearsals for Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at Torch Theater, which has Tech Week on my FIRST WEEK IN SEVENTH GRADE!!!! (uh-oh...)

5. I plan on spending my summer doing some pretty awesome stuff... that was kinda random...

Anyways! About our vacation...

WE ARE DRIVING TO NEW YORK! We are leaving on June 26th and driving to Ohio to stay with my Aunt for a night, then driving out to New York to stay with my Uncle! Yay!
We will be gone for about ten day's. But the best part is... I am seeing Wicked on Broadway! Yippee!! I will also be seeing American Idiot because my brothers and I all love Green Day!
I'm also really excited because then the morning after American Idiot, we are getting a tour backstage of Wicked! It's something called Behind the Emerald Curtain, where cast members come show you around backstage! I'm SO excited! The only bad thing about this vacation is being stuck in the car with my brothers for 20 hours! Yuk! Oh well... It'll still be AWESOME!

Anyways, I will update soon about A Christmas Story...

Updates!

Here are some more updates!

Right now I am having a great time just relaxing and spending time at home (I'm re-doing my room!), but once school starts I will be busy again.

I'm going into Junior High, and unfortunately I will be in the midst of the show "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof"with Torch Theater the month that I start in my new school!

Yesterday I auditioned for "Oliver" with Rosetown Playhouse, and I have a callback tomorrow.

If I don't get in to Oliver I will audition for "The Music Man"

I'm Sorry To Say It, But it is True...

Yup. I have Strep Throat (I might have Pink Eye to but we are not sure). Merrick has Pink Eye. And it looks like Stryker has Strep too.

We stayed home from school yesterday (I had to miss a Dance Contest at school! My group came in 3rd). Then in the afternoon the 3 of us went to the doctor. There Stryker and I got tested for Mono and Strep. Merrick, we found out, definitely has Pink Eye, and I definitely have Strep Throat (but no Mono). However, Stryker was negative for both Mono and Strep (even though his Throat was more red than mine), but they are sending his 'something or other' from the throat swab to get cultured... or something... anyways, he almost definitely has Strep too.

So last night I missed my first performance EVER. The understudy understudies all the girls in the cast, but I am the youngest one (obviously) which means all my characters are age seven and under... keep in mind the understudy is a teen. It must have been pretty weird because at one point I play a four year old, and my MOTHER and FATHER are played by teenagers!!!

Anyways, I'm going to my show tonight. I feel much better and it must because of at least one of the medicines I took last night (ha). I first took medicine for Strep (the boys had to take it to just in case). Then approximately 3 hours later I took a ROUND pill (it was actually like a little ball... it was odd) , then I took NightQuil half an hour later, and slept quite well. Hopefully my show won't make my throat hurt so much that I lose my voice!!!!

Watching American Idol

We are halfway through the run of Sister Kenny's Children at the History Theatre, and it's going really well. It ends in a couple weeks and then I have a BUSY week!

It's not for a couple more weeks but...
Sunday: S.K.C. closes. Valentines Day.
Monday: No school. PERCY JACKSON MOVIE COMES OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Audition with my friend Tessa for 'Alice in Wonderland' at the Heritage Theatre.
Tuesday: Audition for 'The Magic Pot' at Stepping Stone Theatre (which goes to NEW YORK for a weekend!).
Wednesday: School
Thursday: School
Friday: School Talent Show!

So I guess that week I will be doing a lot of singing...

(About the title... I am typing while watching AMERICAN IDOL!!!!)

(Another thing...) Tomorrow (Wednesday) I am shadowing at Murray Jr. High because I might do there for seventh grade!
