Thurston: the final road trip

In August 2007 my family went on vacation for a week and we left our two dogs Jekyll and Thurston with my Grandma. Thurston was very old (around 15, 16) and sort of sick, while Jekyll was blind and not quite as old as Thurston.

We came back and picked up the dogs about a week later, but in the following week, Thurston seemed to be growing more and more sick, my family used to, and still think, that he was homesick and missed us while we were gone and that's why he grew sick, and most people agreed because my  Grandma had treated him really well. Soon he could not feel his legs anymore and we had to feed him in his bed because he couldn't walk. He was going through a lot of pain and someone had to be with him every minute, so after about a day and a half, we had to put him down.

That picture is when they were on their way to my Grandmas house.

  2. Oh honey. That was a hard day. Thurston was dying and we helped spare him some pain. Nice post!
